Well… this was unexpected. Around 3 days before the Lincoln Tech Car show was set to take place, I saw this post below from the school’s Instagram, saying that the show had been delayed and will now be taking place on September 14th. The time stays the same (9 AM to 2 PM), but the date has changed, and radically so at that! Later in May would’ve made sense, or perhaps sometime in June or July, but September? Dang. In any case, that’s your update for what’s going on with this event! The rest of the article below is from before this update.
Another day, another step closer to Colorado Car Culture being back in full force! And what better way to exemplify this than with news of a potential date for an upcoming annual event! As you read in the title, I’m talking about a –tentative– date for the 2024 Lincoln Tech Car Show.
So where did I find this news?
While Facebook often (and justifiably) gets a bad rap for misinformation, events are one of the few areas the book of faces is actually pretty dependable in. Just the other day I found out about a Viper event I never would’ve known of otherwise, and I’ve got an article calling my name about another such event I would’ve completely missed were it not for Facebook. Indeed, say what you will and perhaps must about the platform, it’s a pretty darn good way of knowing what’s going on.
Which brings me, neatly, to this photo below:
I don’t quite remember now what lead to me to this post, but regardless of how it happened, it’s finally given us some semblance of a date for the popular show. While last year’s event was held in May, the organizers have opted for an April date instead, specifically on the 27th. That means the show will be hosted on 4/27, which is rather poetic, don’t you think?
Live Update: As I’m writing this article, I checked Google to make sure I had last year’s date correct. In the midst of that, I went onto Lincoln Tech’s website and found –at the bottom of the page–a new entry in the event list corroborating the date for this very show! It wasn’t there last time I looked roughly a week ago, so it seems that Facebook event post was right on the money! However, it is still quite early and a lot can happen between now and then, so let’s all exercise a little more patience and see if anything changes in the coming weeks. Anyway you slice it though, this is good news!
Before I end, here’s a little explanation of the show for those unfamiliar. Just in case you are actually planning on going and hoping it’s primarily filled with JDM cars or want to know if there’s a spectator fee.
The Cars This Show Usually Attracts
While the show doesn’t limit who can attend (Asian, American, European, and more cars are all welcome), this show has long had a particular appeal to classic muscle enthusiasts. That is to say, you’re going to see a lot of ‘Murican cubic inches from the formative years of the muscle car present at the show. So if that’s not really your thing, then you might want to skip this event, but I don’t recommend it. A healthy array of other cars also turn up, and the people at Lincoln Tech often do demonstrations inside the school as the show goes on.
Cost Of Admission
There is no cost of admission for those wishing to walk around and bask in automotive glory. If you want to exhibit your car though, there is a fee of $20 dollars.
Location of The Show
The show is located at 11194 E 45th Avenue Denver, Colorado. If you’ve ever taken I-70 to DIA then you’ve almost certainly driven past it, as the school (and the backend of the show) can literally be seen from the highway. You can either type the address above into your GPS/Google Maps or type in “Lincoln Tech Denver” and it should come right up. Enjoy
