On the list of cars most people know little about, the Dodge Viper –unfortunately– sits incredibly high on that list. From persistent myths about the engine, falsehoods regarding handling, to gossip about why it died and more, I can’t think of another car that’s as misrepresented as the Viper. Worse still, the racecar versions of it aren’t immune from this disease either.
Mercifully, there is a kindred spirit who shares my irritation with Viper lies and my desire to rectify it. Shawn Romig, a name you should recognize, is a Viper Racing Historian and the creator of ViperRacingHistory.com. His website is dedicated to preserving the history of Viper racecars and educating those unfamiliar with them. He and his website are an unparalleled source of information and knowledge and Viper Nation is better off for it! Speaking of unparalleled, his dominance of Viper Racing info has become even greater, as Shawn recently added a news tab to the site! If you want to stay up-to-date on which racing Vipers are for sale or events they participate in, head over to ViperRacingHistory.com already and bookmark that news tab!
